fly fishing DVD The Source New Zealand gin-clear media

Here are a few extracts from the latest reviews:

“Catching a big fish on film is no mean feat but to do so non-stop for 61 minutes so the viewer looses count is out of this world. I was blown away with the amount of breathtaking fish caught and the quality of the footage in The Source - New Zealand. This is a must have film in any keen fly fishers collection”.

Rene Vaz – Managing Director Manic Tackle Project (NZ)

"From the dramatic opening aerial shot of a pristine river valley deep in the mountains of the South Island you know you are in for a visual feast. Broken up into several chapters, The Source - New Zealand uses a very nice mix of the aforementioned aerial photography, as well as some really nice underwater shots of trout in gin clear waters, mixed in with the angling sequences set to music and narrative to camera pieces. These all combine to give a really nice picture of what any of us can expect should we make the pilgrimage.

For me the quality of the environment and the fish themselves shines through - nothing new there, we all know why New Zealand is so rightly famous, but it can be hard to capture and do justice to and I think this is where the film really wins for me."

"In this fantastic and complex New Zealand movie, everything is simply perfect. With brilliant picture and sound quality, fly fishing sequences are shown in a beautiful way and with such detail they will surely inspire all fly fishing people. The camera often films from unusual angles, above and beneath the water surface and fine details are shown, which in other films often remain unseen.

The Source New Zealand shows impressively, how various and delightful trout fishing in New Zealand can be!

Result: A marvelous film, demonstrating a love of fly fishing, great aesthetic and I think, it is perhaps the most stunning film about fly fishing in New Zealand I have seen."

Great flyfishing DVD: The Source - New Zealand

"This film gives a snapshot of the fishery through the eyes of other people’s experiences. It shows how flyfishing in New Zealand means something different to everybody who fishes there. Big fish, appetizing bugs, great people, first class underwater coverage, as well as helicopter aerials showing the NZ fjords and beautiful landscapes, crystal clear streams, as well as great music are the key ingredients of this movie.

I like this movie and Nick’s style of filming a lot. For all of you who are curious about flyfishing in New Zealand, this film is a must!"

The Source - Tasmania
Brad Harris (Flylife Australia) critiques a landmark fly fishing DVD.

"Shot in stunning wide-screen format, and featuring aerial, time-lapse and slow-motion footage, it celebrates Tasmania’s pivotal role in the acclimatisation of trout throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Nick Reygaert has managed to seamlessly knit documentary, travelogue and cinema styles into one cohesive and engaging story, taking the viewer on a whirlwind taste-testing tour of Tasmania.

This is surely a film that will be a benchmark for the genre and a tool for promoting fly fishing for quite some time."
