A quick vid from RISE Europe Tour 2010

November 27th, 2010

I got a nice surprise this morning when I checked my emails. The below clip was put together by Mark Wengler from Pool 32 Mag an on-line magazine that originates in Denmark.

Mark made the film clip about his rather interesting journey from Copenhagen, Denmark to Malmo, Sweden to see a show of RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2010. Normally this would be an easy trip of 50 km over the bridge that now contents the two countries. Except that on the night of the show a massive snow storm was pushing in from the North making the drive a little more tricky.

Anyway its a good bit of fun and check out Mark’s mag there are some stunning photos and interesting content.

Fly Fishing DVD

NEW FILM BY GIN-CLEAR MEDIA – JUST RELEASED

The Source – Iceland is the third and final film in the highly acclaimed ‘The Source’ Series which exposes the best fly fishing destinations from around the world.

Iceland stands alone and proud on the edge of the Arctic circle in the North Atlantic ocean. It is well known as the world’s largest volcanic island and a land of constant contradictions. But it is the quantity and quality of fly fishing for salmon, trout and arctic char that make it a nirvana for the adventurous fly fisher.

Sight fish to salmon in crystal clear rivers, search a remote fiord for arctic char, tempt massive trout from volcanic spring creeks and battle sea trout in the southern rivers.

This epic cinematic experience captures the passion and excitement of fly fishers exploring this unique land.

Running time approximately 50 minutes plus 15 minutes bonus material

RISE Europe 2010 – Rotterdam Show Sold Out!

November 10th, 2010

With about 2 weeks to go until the first show on the European Tour of RISE 2010, the events are filling up fast. But it has been a huge surprise for us that the fastest selling show has been in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. So quickly in fact that the show has sold out 24 days in advance! There is obviously a strong contingent of fanatical fly fishers in Holland and we can’t wait to show them this years films in full HD on the big screen.

Other shows on the tour are also filling up fast. If you are in London or Helsinki I would advise you get your tickets now before they sell out.

RECON- Tasmania

October 28th, 2010

At present fly-fishing in Tasmania is as good as it can get. Water levels are at a high for a second year in a row. This only means good things for the season ahead.

When the weather patterns combine with your days off you have to make the most of it. Any big high pattern moving over the state usually provides a window of opportunity.

You’ve become accustomed to quick missions. You pack the night before making sure everything on your list is ticked. You hit the road.

It’s mid week and early season. You arrive at the furthest point a car can go and no ones around. It’s all legs from here on in. You do your final check and lump your pack on, wipe your polaroids, put your hat on and set foot.
As you arrive at your destination the sun sets the scene.

Photobucket

Before you know it your camp is set and your lined and rigged stalking the Gin-Clear lake side edge searching for movement or an elusive tail.

Photobucket

Wildlife abounds, you barely notice, as your concentration is set on one target. You spot him and get that feeling that this is your time. The cast positions the fly right in his path.

Photobucket

You’ve nailed a great fish on fly. The world comes alive for the rest of the day as you search broader waters. Nature shows it’s colours.

Imago join as presenting sponsor of RISE 2010 – European Tour

October 6th, 2010

We are stoked to announce that fly fishing lifestyle brand – IMAGO has committed to be the Presenting Sponsor for the European tour of RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2010.

Born out of a passionate group of trout-bums and professional guides, IMAGO came to be in the spring 2007. Since then they have developed a strong following throughout Europe and the world, based on a commitment to make high-end fly fishing gear that can withstand the rigors of constant use. An ideal that all fly fishers can identify with.

_

IMAGO is poised to release a new bunch of new gear in 2011, including IMAGO’s new rods that have been designed in partnership with Gary Loomis and are being made for IMAGO by him at his new rod making facility in the U.S. The combination of Gary’s internationally recognised rod designing and building expertise and IMAGO’s functional and innovative approach and eye for style should make for a really exciting new rod range.

When we are filming in remote wilderness we can’t afford to have gear fail. Quality and durability are something that we at Gin-Clear Media value highly therefore we are proud to welcome IMAGO to the RISE film festival 2010.

Gin-Clear Media is a New Zealand based company that specializes in producing high-quality, adventure-driven fly fishing films. It also runs Rise – Fly Fishing Film Festival, a worldwide film tour that travels through Australia, New Zealand and Europe annually.

RISE 2010

August 12th, 2010

After a month of non-stop touring the Australian leg of the RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2010 is coming to a close. We have seen some great crowds turning up to get their winter fly fishing fix before the season opens in a few weeks.

Fly Fishing DVD

Hobart premiered last night and, despite a deluge of much needed rain, the bumper crowd’s enthusiasm could not be dampened.

Fly Fishing Film

We’ve had some great feedback over the last few weeks including this from Rob Sloane, Editor of Flylife Magazine.

“Great night at the film festival last night. Thanks to Nick Reygaert and his team for bringing the show to Hobart. The 240 seat theatre was packed. I really enjoyed the films and think Nick deserves our thanks for sharing his passions for fly fishing, film making and wild places.” Rob Sloane
